UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 12, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant in Nizhniy Tagil and the local blood bank coordinated a blood donation day for the first time in the company’s history, the corporation’s press service reports.
A portable blood donation station was set up in the square next to Ural Vagon Zavod’s I.V. Okunev Palace of Culture. The idea is to involve as many health-eligible employees in the blood donation movement as possible and possibly persuade them to become regular donors.
Head of Nizhniy Tagil Blood Transfusion Station Nelya Petrova thanked the plant’s medical unit’s chief physician Evgeny Filatov for help with the organization of the event.
‘This is the first time we are coordinating a blood donation event with Nizhniy Tagil’s primary employer. The plant workers proved very active, with over fifty people signing up in the very first hour,’ she said.
