UrBC, Magnitogorsk, January 16, 2018. Quite a few employees of Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) joined the blood donation event around New Year’s Eve, MMK Information, PR & Advertising Department reports.

The representatives of the All-Russian People’s Front and Magnitogorsk Young Metallurgists’ Union spent their last working day of the year at a blood donation station and invited all other locals to do the same.

‘I’ve been donating blood on a regular basis now and see this as a good deed. Donating blood could be even more crucial than usual around a New Year break,’ says gas plumber from MMK Power Department and a representative of the All-Russian People’s Front in Magnitogorsk Ivan Kreslov.

‘We decided to support the All-Russian People’s Front’s initiative: both MMK workers and other people who care and who are ready to do something for the good of the town residents will all come to donate their blood,’ says Chair of Magnitogorsk Young Metallurgists’ Union Dmitri Kazakov.

‘This year was particularly successful in terms of involving new donors into the project. MMK proved a true donor pool this year. The majority of those who came to the station on December 29 were actually the plant’s employees. Most of their blood components got transferred to the plasma quarantine unit,’ MMK says.
