UrBC, Moscow, August 30, 2016. Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev signed a decree that lifts a ban on chartered flights operated between Russia and Turkey, the Cabinet’s website officially states.

The Russian Government’s latest decree to do with Russian-Turkish relations that earlier forbade any chartered flights between the two countries now reads, ‘Steps should be taken to ensure travel safety for Russia-Turkey aerial communication.’

Russia’s Transport Ministry reports Rosaviation informed Russian air carriers as well as the United Air Travel Coordination System as soon as the bans had been lifted. The airlines are already applying for chartered flight slots.

Now chartered flights between Russia and Turkey were originally banned on December 1, 2015.
