KULZ: 300 Workers Compete in Amateur Olympics
8 July 2016 (15:48)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 8, 2016. 300 workers of Kamensk-Uralsky Foundry Plant/KULZ (a member enterprise of Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation) took part in the company-organized amateur Olympics, the company press service reports.
‘A track-and-field relay race, standing jumps, grenade throwing, shot put, tug-of-war, and football games - there is something to choose from for everyone. Players can compete in three age groups: under 35, under 50, and 50+. Every group has its winners, but the younger contestants naturally prove the strongest. For one, the engineer from the Senior Metallurgist’s Department Evgeny Sholokhov proved the best among runners (60 meters in 7.2 seconds) and the team from Assembly Department 41 came first in the relay race,’ the press service says.
‘The goal is to ensure team-building, promote a healthier lifestyle, and popularize sports, since sports give you health, strength, purposefulness, self-control, confidence, and positive outlook. Besides, such amateur games help us spot the sportsmen and women who can later represent our company at various other competitions (city-wide, trade union, and in-company ones),’ says Chair of Youth Committee and acting Senior Metrologist Olga Zakharova.
