Yekaterinburg to Reconstruct Schools

1 July 2016 (10:43)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 1, 2016. Yekaterinburg authorities adopted a program for building and reconstruction of schools in different parts of the city, including Akademichesky District.

According to this plan, an extension to school 23 and a new section of school 181 will be put up in the area before 2020, which will ensure education facilities for 550 children and teens altogether.

The first school will require 863.5m RUR to extend, with 129.5m coming from the city budget and 734m from Sverdlovsk Region’s budget. The construction has been scheduled for 2017-2020. The second one at 22 Krasnolesye St will cost 500m RUR to build, with 75m RUR and 425m RUR allocated from the city and the constituency budgets, respectively. The project is expected to be completed by September 2018.

Head of city council Alexander Yakob says the funding is only provided for schools in the city’s newest districts, which means Akademichesky has better chances than other locations to obtain financing needed for further development of local social infrastructure.
