Yekaterinburg Car Market Sags 25%

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 26, 2016. Yekaterinburg-based dealers sold 10,185 new automobiles between January and April 2016, which was 25% less than one year earlier, Auto-Dealer-Yekaterinburg reports.

In fact, the April sales dropped by 20% on last April, even though this proved the mildest decrease this year so far: in the previous months, the contrast was estimated at 22% to 37% against last year’s respective ones.

The agency reports sales of KIA, Nissan, and Hyundai plummeted most drastically, by 28%, 45%, and 58% in January-April 2016, respectively, and by 36%, 46%, and 32% in the month of April, respectively.

Yekaterinburg’s share of the Russian car market thus came to 2.3% of all national sales in the four months of the year, compared with 2.6% one year earlier.
