Sverdlovsk Region: Funding for students’ scholarships delayed
29 January 2016 (09:26)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, January 29, 2016. Students from N.A.Demidov Nizhniy Tagil State Vocational School complain their monthly scholarships did not come in time.
Ves Tagil reports their January allowances still haven’t been distributed; this affected orphaned underage students particularly badly.
‘They say the money will only come at the end of February, and I just don’t know what to do. Don’t they care at all, how are students with no parents supposed to get by?’, one of the students said.
The school management admitted the funding was running late. The school director Svetlana Morozova says this was also the case in all the local educational establishments.
‘We came back to work on the 11th and submitted all the agreements to the Finance Ministry on the 15th. And yet here we are, still waiting for the money to come. Nothing has been transferred to our accounts that could be used to provide students’ allowances and teachers’ salaries so far,’ Morozova said.
Sverdlovsk Region Finance Ministry offered no comment on the situation.
