UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 2, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation celebrated the start of school as thousands of employees’ children in Kamensk-Uralsky, Nizhniy Tagil, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, and a number of other cities became first-graders this year, the company press service reports.

‘Ural Vagon Zavod’s head plant’s top managers congratulated the schoolchildren and vocational school students on the start of the new school year in person and came to the school-opening ceremonies. Executive Director Vladimir Roshchupkin came to Gymnasium 86 and School 43 with a welcoming address to students, teachers, and parents, and wished this year’s school-leavers good luck with their exams,’ the press service says.

Special attention was paid to Nizhniy Tagil’s first-graders this year. 820 children of Ural Vagon Zavod employees started school in 2016, so their parents were given gift certificates to school supply stores by the trade union representatives. School-starters’ mothers were also allowed to take three days of paid leave. Additionally, a special School for Superheroes show was organized for the children at the head plant’s I.V. Okunev Palace of Culture in the afternoon on September 1. Every kid was given some candy at the end of the show.

The company also presented all of its partner schools in Nizhniy Tagil with thirty copies of Svetlana Lavrova’s Ural Vagon Zavod’s Legends. This is a children’s book about the history of both Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation and the city of Nizhniy Tagil. This is a special edition dedicated to the machine-building giant’s 80th anniversary.
