Sverdlovsk Region’s inflation rate is 14%

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, January 28, 2016. Consumer goods and services grew 14% on Sverdlovsk Region’s market last year, Sverdlovskstat reports.

Food items grew 16.1% more expensive; taken without alcohol items, the price increase was 17.2% (compared with 16.1% in 2014). Fish, pasta/grains, milk and dairy products, bread and pastries, and meat prices rose by 25.3%, 19.7%, 12.9%, 10.3%, and 9.7%, respectively. The price of fruit and vegetables (including potatoes) went up by an average of 26% (+33.2% for citrus and other fruits, +25.2% for vegetables, and -28.7% for potatoes).

The non-food items grew 14.3% more expensive (compared with 6.4% in 2014). The price of school and office supplies rose by 38%, that of textiles by 36.6%, that of electronic goods and appliances by 31.6%, that of cosmetics items by 25.2%, that of medicines by 23.8%, that of laundry detergents by 23.5%, that of tobacco by 23.4%, that of porcelain dishes and cups by 18%, and that of the printed press issues by 15.9%.
