Sverdlovsk Region: Inflation rate comes to 11.4% in nine months

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 26, 2015. The prices of consumer goods and services went up by 11.4% in September 2015 compared with December 2014; a year earlier, the increase stood at 6.1% (September 2014 against December 2013), Sverdlovskstat reports.
The overall increase in food prices (including strong drinks) was above that of last year (11.7% against 8.9%). Food items (excluding strong drinks) grew 12.3% more expensive ( against 8.7% a year earlier).
Fish and seafood, meat, bread and pastry, milk and dairy products grew 19.2%, 9.4%, 9.2%, and 9.1% more expensive, respectively.
The price of some items went up even more dramatically. For one, olive oil grew 39.1% more expensive, margarine, chocolate, canned and pickled vegetables, black tea, and powder milk grew 38.8%, 36%, 34%, 33.4%, and 31.9% more expensive.
The cost of a minimum shopping basket came to 3,751.6 RUR a month on average; this is 7.9% more than at the start of the year; a year earlier, the increase stood at 5.3% (September 2014 against December 2013),
As for non-food items, prices went up by 11.9% (4% in September 2014).
