UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 28, 2015. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant was declared Nizhniy Tagil’s No.1 charity-giver in the year 2015. This is the fourth year in a row the plant wins this title among the city’s industrial enterprises with over 1,000 employees; the title is an acknowledgement of the plant’s great contribution to Nizhniy Tagil’s development, the company press service says.

The plant directed over 500m RUR to help various local residents this year. Despite the challenging economic situation, this year’s donations were greater than one year earlier; Ural Vagon Zavod gave more than 190m RUR to charity in the first nine months of 2015 alone.

The funds were spent to support Nizhniy Tagil sports players, including the young players from Sputnik Sports Club and those from Nizhniy Tagil division of Sverdlovsk Region Cycling, Trekking & Mountain Bike Federation, and to maintain the city’s sports facilities. This help makes it possible for the locals to do sports, professionally, if they choose. Additionally, Ural Vagon Zavod sponsored Russian Classic, an open-air hockey match which proved a real treat for all hockey fans.
