Ural Vagon Zavod’s Sputnik Hockey Club Turns 55

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 22, 2016. Sputnik Hockey Club, for which Ural Vagon Zavod Scientific & Production Corporation acts as the primary sponsor, was founded fifty-five years ago this month, the corporation’s press service reports.
Sverdlovsk Region Physical Education, Sports, & Youth Policy Minister Leonid Rapoport, Head of Nizhniy Tagil Physical Education, Sports, and Youth Policy Department Dmitri Yazovskikh, the club’s famous alumni, and many others congratulated this Nizhniy Tagil-based club on the happy event.
‘Sputnik Hockey Club is a true talent pool. Nizhniy Tagil boxing, swimming, track-and-field, and weightlifting schools have produced hundreds of professional, first-rate sports players and are among the best in this country,’ says Ural Vagon Zavod Director-General Vladimir Roschupkin.
Sputnik’s famous sportsmen and women, including Russia’s Master of Sports, member of the Russian national team, and the Rio Olympics participant Daria Ustinova, Russian Cup 2016 holder and Russia’s Master of Sports Yegor Klimonov, Russia’s Masters of Sports and members of the Russian national track-and-field team Alena Mamina and Artem Denmukhametov all came to Nizhniy Tagil to celebrate the anniversary.
