UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 1, 2015. The so-called anti-Turkish sanctions are going to affect Sverdlovsk Region more badly than any other constituency in Ural Federal District, Ural Customs indicate.

According to their press service, Sverdlovsk Region, Chelyabinsk Region, and Tyumen Region were responsible, respectively, for 48%, 36%, and 14% of Russian-Turkish trade turnover.

‘Our trade with Turkey made up 4% of Ural Federal District’s overall trade turnover and amounted to $963.9m this year. Remarkably, more goods were exported to Turkey (5% of overall exports) than were imported to the area (1% of overall imports).

Last year, the trade turnover was estimated at $1,050.2m (2.5% of the constituency’s overall trade turnover).

Mostly, Turkey bought our ferrous and non-ferrous metals and metal goods, chemical products, fertilizers, oil and mineral fuel, plastics, electric machines and equipment, timber, and timber products.

The imported items were primarily fruit and vegetables, fur and leather items, textiles, footwear, paints and varnishes, ceramics, perfumes and cosmetics, toys, and other end-user products.
