UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 7, 2015. ChTPZ Group supplied around 11,000,000 kg of large-diameter pipes for Yamal SPG, a joint project on the development of Yuzhno-Tambeiskoye natural gas deposit in Yamal Peninsula worked on by Novatek, the Chinese company CNPC, and France's Total. The Group's pipes will be used to construct the first section of the pipeline network, from the well proper to the gathering station, the company press service reports.

The Group is Russia's first company to start manufacturing non-standard, single-joint arc-welded pipes of relatively small diameter (530mm) and impressive wall thickness parameters (25mm, 28mm, and 28.5mm). All of the large-diameter pipes are made from X70 steel at the Group's Vysota 239 Department. In order to produce the LDPs, ChTPZ Group had to create special technological conditions and get some of its facilities upgraded for the unique-parameter pipes. The entire range of pipes necessary for the project has by now been shipped to customer.

The company has done business with Yamal SPG successfully in the past. Every year, OCTGs get delivered to the deposit to develop new wells. The Group's SOT Plant will supply 650 530mm bypasses (wall thickness 28.5mm and 44mm) to the customer by the end of August. ChTPZ Group is planning to keep on bidding for Yamal SPG's tenders in the future and fulfill all sorts of orders, however sophisticated.
