ChTPZ Group to Supply LDPs to Rumania

11 October 2017 (13:17)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 11, 2017. ChTPZ Group is going to supply its large-diameter pipes to OMV, Central Europe’s largest oil company, the Group’s press service reports.

OMV placed an order for 850,000 kg of pipes (diameter: 508 mm; layer thickness: 14.2 mm) with a three-layer polyethylene coating and 1,620,000 kg of pipes (layer thickness: 11 mm). The LDPs will be made at the Group’s Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant’s Vysota 239 Department; the pipes will be used for the repairs and construction of OMV’s pipelines in Rumania.

This order is unique in that the pipes need to be manufactured and delivered very soon. Under the terms of the contract the two parties signed in September, ChTPZ Group is to ship the first set of pipes as soon as this October. To do this, the company developed a multi-module logistics scheme with a combination of shipments by rail, by sea, and by truck.

‘The Group won this tender because it offered the Austrian company produce that meets all of OMV’s requirements and can get delivered quickly. Outstripping European competitors means the Group offers very good quality produce that enjoys demand both on the domestic and the international markets,’ says the Group’s Commercial Director Denis Prikhodko.

Large-diameter pipes made at Vysota 239 have been used for such major pipelines as The Power of Siberia, Southern Gas Corridor, Bovanenkovo-Ukhta, Beyneu-Bozoy-Shimkent, Zapolyarye-Purpe, Kuyumba-Tayshet, and V.Filanovsky gas deposit. The Group also supplies its LDPs for Nord Stream 2.
