UVZ restores Okunev Palace in Nizhniy Tagil

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 30, 2015. Uralvagonzavod Corporation/UVZ keeps working on a new children’s playground located on the premises of I.V. Okunev Palace of Culture in Nizhniy Tagil, the company press service reports.

Four out of eight playground sections have already been assembled, and the work is about to begin for the remaining four. Every section is complete with sports and games implements made from safe materials that meet all the government standards.

‘A playground will be complemented by a stage for large-scale festive events, an electric cart range to teach children the traffic rules, some gazebos, and much else besides,’ the press service says.

The layout of the additional facilities is still being designed; in the meantime, the sites for them and the pavements get layers of macadam foundation, to be followed by asphalt and a rubberized coating to ensure maximum safety.

Palace of Culture is also undergoing reconstruction, with 8,000 m2 of new roofing and 800 m2 of new cornices; in fact, the stucco work gets restored for the first time since 1957. Besides, the building will be fitted with a new roof system to prevent snow and icicles from accumulating on the surface and a special roof balustrade to serve as a set of ice rakes.
