UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 25, 2015. Uralvagonzavod Corporation/UVZ signed a number of cooperation agreements with Russian colleges, with the aim of setting up vocational chairs there, at Sverdlovsk Region Union of Industrialists & Entrepreneurs Vocational Education & Labor Supply Committee meeting, the company press service reports.

At the start of the meeting, UVZ Executive Director Vladimir Roschupkin and Director of G.V. Plekhanov Russian Economic University’s Ural branch Alla Golovina signed an agreement to set up an integrated Chair for Economics & Management. A similar agreement was also signed by the corporation’s head plant and Russian State Vocational & Pedagogical University, Rector Evgeniy Dorozhkin signing the paper on his university’s behalf.

Roschupkin pointed out Uralvagonzavod really needed new people.

‘We lack professionals with exhaustive knowledge of their work who are prepared to deal with complex machinery. The labor supply available in Nizhniy Tagil at the moment does not quite meet our demand. People moving to larger cities is one of the major problems. Ironically, most of the engineering colleges are concentrated in the central part of Russia, whereas most of the industrial enterprises are actually dispersed throughout the entire country,’ he said.
