UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 22, 2015. ChTPZ Group and Severstal held a strategic cooperation session to look into their performance in the first half of the year, the company’s press service reports.
The two parties spoke about the companies’ technological cooperation, smoothness of order fulfillment, and quality of metal produced. ChTPZ Group and Severstal’s joint efforts in the first half of the year resulted in less time spent on delivery: it now takes nine rather than fifteen days to deliver rolled metal products from Cherepovets to Chelyabinsk. The companies also agreed about their future action plan, for one, both parties decided to deal with the document flow electronically. They will also work together on introducing barcodes on heavy plates made at Severstal’s Mill 5000; the barcode will have all the necessary order information for Vysota 239, one of ChTPZ Group’s production departments.
This will improve the quality of large-diameter pipes made by ChTPZ, since pipe manufactures will be able to scan all the necessary details off the barcode without having to read accompanying manuals and documentation. The barcode will provide information on all of the plate parameters such as the grade of steel, the dimensions, the serial number of a melting operation, and so on; these data will also become available to the end user in the future so that the latter can track the entire production process from steel-smelting to the finished product.
