Severstal and ChTPZ Group sign strategic cooperation agreement through 2015

December 4, 2013. The 15th coordination council of ChTPZ Group and Severstal took place at CherMK, with both parties signing a strategic cooperation agreement valid through 2015, ChTPZ Group’s press service reports.
The partners agreed to develop their relationship whose strategic aim is to provide ChTPZ Group with Severstal’s great quality produce for manufacturing pipes. A technical cooperation program is being devised, to cover all the technical issues with help from specialized organizations and research institutes.
ChTPZ and Severstal are currently working on a joint cross-functional project on the creation of a system of delivery process management; the preliminary results of this project were looked into during the coordination council. It was pointed out that the time spent on processing a customer’s query and the time spent on dealing with specifications were reduced, and the time to fulfill an order (with the delivery of metal goods from Cherepovetsk to Chelyabinsk accounted for) went from 45 down to 36 days.
‘The implementation of this joint cross-functional project is going to result into an additional competitive advantage for our company – a whole set of measures aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the entire delivery process,’ says Severstal Russian Steel Director-General Sergey Toporov.
