Sverdlovsk Region to replace only 2% of harvesting equipment

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 19, 2015. Only 1.5% to 2% of Sverdlovsk Region's harvesting equipment will be replaced this year, Agriculture Minister Mikhail Kopytov said at a press briefing in Yekaterinburg.
'We ordered around forty new threshers, this mean 1.5% to 2% of our fleet of vehicles will be replaced. The modest percentage has to do with the fact that investment loans have grown extremely costly this year,' the minister said.
Based on the minister's estimates, a quarter of all the harvesting vehicles were already obsolete last year. Head of Sverdlovsk Region Legislative Assembly Agrarian Committee Ilya Gaffner said earlier that the worn-out equipment was one of the reasons last year's harvesting campaign did not meet any deadlines.
