UVZ Corporation presents new produce at Army 2015

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 18, 2015. Uralvagonzavod Corporation's member enterprises presented their new produce at Army 2015, the first international military and technological forum, the corporation's press service reports.

For one, Burevestnik (Nizhniy Novgorod) displayed its upgraded armored vehicle BTR 80 for the first time. Thanks to the new set of options, the vehicle's combat capacity has doubled, in addition to improved protection, ergonomic performance, and multi-actor manageability. Moreover, this upgrade set is applicable to other armored vehicle types.

Burevestnik also presented its 82-mm mortar gun 2B24 mounted on all-terrain vehicle RM 500 6x4. The portable mortar gun, which outstrips its foreign counterparts, was designed for air assault and marine units. Its advantage lies in that mounting the mortar gun on an all-terrain vehicle increases the set's overall mobility up to 80 km per hour.

Among other products on show was the 57-mm artillery mount AU 220M meant for the latest and upgraded armored vehicles. The unmanned unit has firing rate of 120 shots per minute and firing range of up to 12 km. The mount can rotate a full circle horizontally and 5 to 75 degrees vertically.

Uralvagonzavod presented its fire support combat vehicle BMPT 72 (aka Terminator 2), an export version of tank T 90C, its latest upgrade of tank T 72B3, machine KPM 1I37E, turret mounts 6S21, mortar guns 2B24 and 2B25, and a model of an after-sale center for servicing armored vehicles on a life cycle contract basis.
