UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 1, 2015. Uralvagonzavod Corporation handed out keys to new homes to seventeen of its workers.
According to the company press service, employees from the head plant’s mechanical assembly department and their families will be able to move into new studios and one-bedroom apartments on the first of June on rental terms.
‘The apartments were offered to turners and millers, machine operators and mechanicals, drillers, and electricians from mechanical assembly, chief electrician’s, welding, and other departments,’ the press service says.
Sverdlovsk Region Legislative Assembly Deputy and UVZ Executive Director Vladimir Roschupkin congratulated the workers on moving house and said the company intended to keep on building new homes for its employees: ‘We have got a land allotment for a 400-apartment building.’
Uralvagonzavod Corporation decided to put up housing for its workers in 2013, when the enterprise faced acute shortage of machine-building cadre. Company housing was a way to attract workers onto the plant. There are currently 176 apartments at 90 Ilyicha St and 2 Parkovaya/42 Pikhtovaya St available for rent.
