March 3, 2015. Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant (ChTZ Uraltrac, a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) shipped eight B10MB bulldozers for the construction of an airport in Novaya Zemlya, the corporation’s press service reports.
‘The airport is meant to assist in the development of hydrocarbon deposits in the Arctic shelf plates by providing a reliable aviation link with the continent; our vehicles will help put up the air haven,’ the press service explains.
The swamp bulldozers are shipped to the Arctic with the help of the plant’s dealer, Tyumenzapchast.
The representatives of the dealer and the customer carried out thorough acceptance tests for the bulldozers; the vehicles were fitted with cabin heaters and filled with special Arctic-suitable oils and fuel.
‘The B10MB bulldozers with mechanical transmission and D180 engines have been used in harsh weather conditions for many years now, so they have proven to be reliable and low-maintenance. This is not the first time our bulldozers will be used in the Polar North,’ the press service says.
