Yekaterinburg’s official unemployment rate stands at 0.58%

February 27, 2015. 1,870 people applied to Yekaterinburg Employment Center looking for a job; 95.1% of the applicants are without a position at the moment, Sverdlovsk Region Labor & Employment Department’s press service reports.

930 citizens were officially registered as jobless in January 2015.

As of February 1, 2015, 4,204 unemployed Russian citizens were registered with the local employment agencies (compared with 3,524 people a year earlier). Yekaterinburg’s official unemployment rate stood at 0.58%. At the same time, the number of people who don’t have a job at the moment but are on the lookout for it reached 43,619, with the factual unemployment at 6%.

Sverdlovsk Region-based employers advertised for 20,466 positions, 62.7% of which are blue-collar jobs. 9,080 positions (44.4%) are offered specifically to foreign workers. The average monthly pay advertised comes to 17,200 RUR.
