Burevestnik DG becomes Honorary Citizen of Nizhniy Novgorod Region

December 24, 2014. Prof. Georgy I Zakamennykh, PhD, member of the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences and Director-General of Burevestnik Central Scientific Research Institute (a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) was awarded the title of the Honorary Citizen of Nizhniy Novgorod Region, the corporation’s press service reports.

‘This is a very high estimate of the institute and its head’s contribution to the area’s socioeconomic development. The institute team, headed by Prof. Zakamennykh, is engaged in a wide range of scientific studies and experimental design projects on and production of artillery weapons for the Russian Armed Forces,’ the company says.

As the organization has managed to meet all of the government defense orders in full for the last five years, Burevestnik now finds itself economically stable. The institute keeps growing, increasing its production output from 1.1bn RUR in 2010 to 4.9bn RUR in 2014 (the per-worker output rose from 1m RUR to 3.3m RUR). The average monthly pay went up from 23,200 RUR to 43,800 RUR over these four years. The institute’s Collective Agreement also provides for an impressive social benefits package, and all the tax and retirement payments are paid out in full.
