Burevestnik DG gets Alexander Nevsky Award

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 28, 2015. Director-General of Burevestnik Central Scientific Research Institute (a member enterprise of Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation) Georgi Zakamennykh was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky by President’s special decree. The order was given for his ‘work achievements, many years of conscientious service, and proactive social efforts.’
According to the company press service, Zakamennykh was appointed Senior Designer for Artillery Weapons by a military-industrial committee in 2009. He was personally responsible for the development and serial production of the world-unique 100mm artillery unit A190-01, mortar units 2B24, 2B25, and 2S12A, 1I37, and 1I41 and is now supervising the development of the 152mm artillery unit Koalitsia, the 57mm anti-aircraft artillery unit, and much else besides.
Zakamennykh is the inventor of more than eighteen new products, author and co-author of some 300 research papers, and holder of seventeen inventor patents. He also educates new experts in the field as Head of Artillery Weaponry Department at R.E. Alekseyev Nizhniy Novgorod State Technical University. He received the Order of Honor and the Russian Federation Government Prize in Science & Technology in 2009.
