Yekaterinburg signs agreement on hosting Europe’s table tennis championship in 2015

November 11, 2014. A number of agreements in preparation for the European table tennis championship of 2015 in Yekaterinburg got signed last Sunday, the city council’s press service reports.
The signing ceremonies were attended by Head of Yekaterinburg Council Alexander Yakob, Assistant to the Russian Federation President and Chairman of the Russian Table Tennis Federation’s Board of Trustees Igor Levitin, and President of the European Table Tennis Union Ronald Kramer.
The officials also signed papers on holding the ITTF World Tour in Yekaterinburg for another four years and on support Regional Airports Management Company is going to offer women’s table tennis in Russia and drew up a master contract on holding a European championship between the ETTU and the Russian Table Tennis Federation. Besides, it was agreed that Yekaterinburg-based hotels would be given the status of Championship 2015 official accommodation.
It was stressed that Yekaterinburg has already hosted more than plenty of high-profile international events of all sorts, which guarantees the upcoming sports events will be coordinated in the best way that meets all the international standards.
The Urals’ capital will be hosting the championship at Yekaterinburg EXPO and other venues on September 25-October 4, 2015.
