Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s head plant’s worker is declared Sverdlovsk Region’s best arc welder

October 6, 2014. Denis Litvinov, an arc welder from Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s head plant, won in the prestigious local professional skills contest called Glory to the Man of Labor; the contest was held within the machine-building sector, and Litvinov won in the Best Manual Arc Welder category.
According to the corporation’s press service, the winner works at the thermal power station, underwent certification by Rostechnadzor, has job class 6 and twelve-years’ work experience.
‘For one month, Denis Litvinov practiced welding in accordance with the technological map and under the guidance of engineers from the Chief Welder’s Department; the goal was to get a good quality product that could pass the radiographic test,’ the press service says.
The documentation package relating to the coordination of the contest and the evaluation criteria for the product sample were developed by Sverdlovsk Region Ministry for Industry & Science, Ural Certification Center, and Uralvagonzavod experts.
The most outstanding workers from twenty-six local enterprises were selected to compete in the contest; each of them was given a 120-point advance score, with penalty points deducted in the course of the contest. Litvinov’s final score was 94, which proved the best result among all.
