October 1, 2014. Electromachine Scientific & Production Association (a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) coordinated a cycling quest in Chelyabinsk on Machine-Builders’ Day.
According to the corporation’s press service, the cyclists had to choose the best route using a navigator, get to control points, and cope with a number of tasks that required resourcefulness, erudition, and adroitness.
‘Ten five-people teams of Electromachine’s employees took part in the event. Possessing a smartphone with a functioning Internet connection, multi-media messaging service, and a navigator was one of the entry requirements. Tasks were prepared for the contestants, and a route was created along Gagarin Park. At the control points, teams took pictures of photographs featuring a lovers’ monument, a fountain, and Gulliver’s statue. Feeding one of the park’s furry inhabitants was one of the bonus tasks,’ the company says.
In the end, the team from the company’s Chief Mechanic & Maintenance Department won the first prize. The Economic Department’s team, serendipitously called Clover, was given the silver medal, while the third prize went to the team from the Flexible Automated Manufacturing Department. The prize-winning teams were given gift certificates to one of Chelyabinsk’s entertainment sites.
