September 16, 2014. Employees of Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant (ChTZ-Uraltrac, a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) took part in a track-and-field race dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the company's trade union, Uralvagonzavod Corporation's press service reports.
About a hundred workers from the tractor plant's different divisions joined the race. There were quite a few young people at the start line. The event coordinators, who categorized contestants into age groups, even had to have the younger employees run in several installments, as they wouldn't fit into the start line all at once.
Female runners had to deal with a 300-meter race, while the male ones ran a 500-meter distance. Competition grew fierce, just like it does at big and spectacular sports events. The judges repeatedly had to warn the sports players against keeping the finishing line crowded and about keeping their distance.
Winners were given ChTZ medals, certificates, and boxes of chocolates.
'The tradition of coordinating September Races was born at the plant six years ago; it was the trade union committee that proposed this initiative at the time. Since then, large-scale races became a compulsory part of the enterprise's makeshift Olympics and the opening event of the competition season. In addition to the good mood and the energy boost the runners get, these company races also promote a healthy lifestyle that is always associated with physical training and sports,' the corporation says.
