Uralvagonzavod Corporation presents its developments at Magistral 2014

August 8, 2014. Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation, the general partner of the event, presented the latest developments by its member enterprises at Ural Transport Show Magistral 2014.
According to the corporation’s press service, the Director-General Oleg Sienko took part in the plenary session on transport machine-building and the impact this segment feels of the new institutional mechanisms.
‘In his report, Oleg Sienko spoke about the corporation’s innovative developments, including, for example, production of rolling stock and of modern low-floor trams. Besides, he gave his viewpoint on the complicated situation on the car-building market that is affected by a decrease in the amount of railway shipments and by the use of too many older cars with extended life.
‘Innovative cars,’ he stressed, ‘mean safe railway operation and safe passenger travel.’
During the show, the corporation presented the largest set of life-size samples of railway and light rail vehicles as well as of machines meant for building and other jobs. The new, upgraded 71-407-01 tram with low floor in the middle produced by Uraltransmash enjoyed a first-time showing at Magistral 2014.
Omsktransmash displayed one of its latest products, the pile screwing machine MZS 21. The machine was successfully tested in August and was actually presented outside Omsk Region for the first time.
Among the other promising achievements the corporation took to Magistral 2014 were two tank containers by Uralcryomash: these containers are currently unique to Russia. KTsM 40/0.8 is meant for transportation and storage of liquefied natural gas and KTsKh 25/0.4 is meant for transportation and storage of acids, alkaline substances, highly corrosive substances, and other types of chemical products.
