Russia’s second UNESCO Information Center to open in Yekaterinburg

August 6, 2014. Yekaterinburg Library Center and Ural-Siberian Federation of UNESCO Associations, Clubs & Centers are embarking upon a new international project, UNESCO Information Club, with help from the city council’s Culture Department, Yekaterinburg Council’s press officer reports.

UNESCO Information Center will inform the public about what the organization does, about its goals and its various educational programs and projects, will promote the establishment of more stable ties between the participants of Russian projects, and will improve information exchange and its mutual use.

Remarkably, this year marks Russia’s 60th anniversary of joining the United Nations, and Yekaterinburg can well be considered the center of the events.

The Center’s primary project at the moment is getting ready for the UNESCO World Youth Exhibition in 2016.
