TMK, LUKoil sign scientific & technical cooperation program

July 15, 2014. Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), one of the world's leading OCTG producers, and LUKoil signed a program on scientific and technical cooperation in 2014-2016, TMK's press service reports.
The program's primary aim is to ensure production of import-replacing and new kinds of piping products with enhanced technical and economic features that will meet the oil and gas industry's needs. According to this program, LUKoil will provide organizational and advisory support for all the R&D projects and will single out the most important scientific and technical problems faced during deposit development, while TMK will coordinate research and offer solutions to these problems.
The program dwells upon three main cooperation segments for TMK and LUKoil: casing pipes, pumping and compression pipes, and OCTG. Among the program's eighteen sets of actions are testing, research, presentations and training workshops, and tech support. The expected result is replacing imported goods with locally produced ones, reduced financial expenses, increased reliability of TMK produce and a wider range of its application, partially through LUKoil's offshore projects.
