Uralvagonzavod Corporation implements 115 improvement proposals in first half of the year

July 1, 2014. Employees of Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s head plant celebrated their professional festive day – the All-Russian Day of Inventor & Production Improver – on June 28, the corporation’s press service reports.

The target figures for the number of proposed and implemented production improvement suggestions for the first half of 2014 were met by 100%. Over 300 experts from 55 structural divisions of the plant took part in this process.

The enterprise currently sees a reduction in production costs as one of its top development priorities; one part of dealing with this task is the development of a functional improvement proposals system. In the six months of 2014 alone, 114 production improvement proposals were implemented at Uralvagonzavod, with savings estimated at 15,378,600 RUR. As a result, labor intensity is down by 1,116.6 man-hours, ferrous metal savings come to 16,400 kg, and electric power savings come to 2,286.5 kilowatt-hours.

This year, 33 workers of Uralvagonzavod were awarded with honorary certificates of varying degrees of importance for their significant personal contribution to the company’s innovative development. For one, foreman of the cold forging department’s mechanical treatment section Alexei Mitin was given the title of the Yu. E. Maksarev Prize Laureate and a 15,000-ruble premium. His creative approach to work and great understanding of the production process made it possible for Mitin to implement his technical think-ups targeted at material and metal savings and improving the spare parts production process.
