Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s hockey team wins in Rostech-Russian Corporate Games Championship

June 16, 2014. Players from Ogneborets, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s company team, became hockey champions and winners of the Crystal Cup awarded for winning in Rostech-Russian Corporate Games World Corporate League. The championship was held in Moscow.
According to the corporation’s press service, this is the first time an ice hockey championship has been organized within the four years of running the competitions. Four teams took part in the event: a team from N.E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University, AvtoLine Group, which took part in the contest for the first time this year, a team of players from Moscow-based TsSK, champions from the junior hockey leage, Moscow Region champions from Zvezda Hockey Club, and Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s Ogneboretz.
The plant’s team was set up in 2005 and comprises workers from Sverdlovsk Region division of Russia’s Ministry of Emergencies Firefighting Department 2 (this division has been Uralvagonzavod’s head plant’s partner since 1936), workers from the assembly department, from Foundry Department 2, and from Uralvagonzavod’s technical equipment supply division. Deputy Director for Special Vehicles Vyacheslav Khalitov acted as the captain.
‘Uralvagonzavod’s team beat the team from N.E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University 10:2, Zvezda defeated Avtoline Group’s team 14:0 during qualification matches. In the final game, Ogneboretz faced a serious adversary, Zvezda. The former scored 2:0 at first, then the latter improved their chances, making the score 3:3, and 90 seconds before the game was over, Uralvagonavod’s team scored and proved its indomitable will and winning spirit by winning 4:3, even though it was four players against six. Zvezda came second, and the team from N.E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University came third,’ the corporation reports.
