January 20, 2015. Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s hockey team players are now getting ready for the opening game of the Russian Classic championship that will take place at the corporation’s Sputnik Stadium in Nizhniy Tagil.

‘On February 13, Vostochny Front (the corporation’s team) will play Zapadny Front (the Supreme Hockey League’s manager team). The names of the teams (‘Eastern Front’ and ‘Western Front’) were chosen in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War V-Day,’ the corporation’s press service reports.

The team members now practice twice a week, with Sputnik Hockey Club’s most experienced managers to guide them. The team consists of people in managerial positions from all of Uralvagonzavod’s member enterprises. The players’ motivation and love of sport served as the main selection criteria.

Vostochny Front will thus include Production Director Pavel Slobodyanik, Commercial Director Andrei Sentyabov, PR & Advertising Director Alexander Bachurin, Personnel Training Center Director Sergey Vassilyev, and others.

‘All the players are doing their best, they support and help one another. The main thing about hockey is to understand the game and the other players. It’s crucial to be aware of who can be found where during a game. This sort of awareness and understanding can be achieved during practice sessions,’ says forward Alexander Bachurin.
