June 16, 2014. MegaFon and Kaspersky Lab are launching free antivirus software for Anroid-based mobile devices, the mobile telecommunications provider’s press service reports.

‘All of MegaFon’s customers who prefer Android 2.3 (and up)-based devices can enjoy the benefits of a special version of Kaspersky Internet Security for Android free of charge. This protection comes as a part of the package for all of MegaFon-branded new products,’ the message states.

Kaspersky Internet Security for Android was designed by Kaspersky Lab experts specially for MegaFon subscribers; it can check the device for malware within files, memory cards, applications one downloads from Internet resources, and text messages. Once a suspicious object has been detected, it is transferred to a quarantine vault and then deleted. A user can have the program launch check-ups by default and get statuses and updates on their device’s protection status any time they like.

The application has Anti-Theft function that helps to locate a lost smartphone or tablet computer and protect the data stored there. Customers can block the device remotely and delete all the data stored there. The application can locate an Android-based smartphone or tablet even if the SIM card has been replaced.
