May 19, 2014. Sverdlovsk Region was declared the best Russian Federation constituency for small and medium enterprises’ development and in terms of creating a growth-inducing environment at the All-Russian SME Days Forum in Moscow on May 13-15, 2014, the spokesperson for Sverdlovsk Region Entrepreneurship Support Fund reports.
11 Russian Federation constituencies and over 300 small and medium enterprises took part in the forum. Sverdlovsk Region was represented by Sverdlovsk Region Entrepreneurship Support Fund, whose stand featured presentations of seven innovative enterprises.
Six companies based in Sverdlovsk Region were pointed out by the board of experts. The board comprised representatives of Russia’s Chamber for Commerce & Industry, I. Blokhina International Biotechnologies Fund, and M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University Department of Economics. Three Sverdlovsk Region-based companies – a manufacturer of cosmetics containing the patented substance eftiderm, a developer of a three-axis magnetometer, and a company which created an innovative security system for private houses – were given the top awards of the exhibition: the All-Russian Exhibition Center Medals. Besides, a medical equipment manufacturer, the developer of ball-in tube flowmeter for diesel fuel, and the designer of an automated supply system for burning bio-fuel won in the Best Innovative Project Contest.
‘Sverdlovsk Region’s stand was different in that it presented technological advances in different fields: medicine, construction, and cosmetic medicine. The presence of manufacturing companies was a nice fact as it proved that the Urals are an industrial area even on the small enterprise scale,’ says Deputy Head for Exhibition Activity of the All-Russian Exhibition Center Natalya Bobrovskaya.
