Uralvagonzavod Corporation holds conference on spare parts durability and wear resistance

May 6, 2014. Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s head plant in Nizhniy Tagil hosted a research-to-practice conference on the vital issues of structural durability and wear resistance of spare parts.

‘Academicians and Corresponding Fellows from the Russian Academy of Sciences, PhDs in technical fields from Ural Federal University, experts from the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and representatives of the local industrial enterprises came to the conference to talk about the important aspects of the Urals’ industrial development,’ the corporation’s press service reports.

The agenda of the conference touched upon such points as the static fatigue of steels, highly durable, corrosion-resistant steel for springs and other elastic elements, computer control of foundry techniques, an innovative technology for making bogie frames, modern approaches to designing foundry departments, and some others. In addition, 18 reports were made on nano-technologies, nano-structures, and other relevant topics, and 16 stand presentations were given.
