Uralvagonzavod Holds Conference on Tank-Building Industry

April 4, 2013. The All-Russian Research & Practice Conference dedicated to the tank-building industry in the 20th century, its history, historiography, museum exhibitions, and books on the subject took off at Uralvagonzavod’s Palace of Culture today. The conference was organized by Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation, the Russian Academy of Sciences’ S.I. Vavilov Natural History & Technology Institute, and Russia’s Ministry of Culture’s Polytechnic Museum, Uralvagonzavod’s press service reports.

The event was attended by the most prominent scientists and researchers in the field, employees of tank industry museums, reputed industrial journalists with many years’ experience in this sphere, and long-service and current employees of the Russian tank-building industry, eighty-one people altogether.

Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation was represented by the enterprises from the corporation’s special vehicles division. These are the Nizhniy Tagil-based Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation, UKBTM, Uraltransmash, and Yekaterinburg-based UralNITI, as well as Omsk-based KBTM, Chelyabinsk-based ChTZ-Uraltrac, Nizhniy Novgorod-based Burevestnik, and some others.
