April 29, 2014. Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation looked up into the results of its social partnership with the educational establishments of Dzerzhinsky District of Nizhniy Tagil in 2012, the corporation’s press service says.
The two parties looked at the promising fields in which they could cooperate in the future. In 2014, the corporation’s head plant is planning to allocate 22.25m RUR for the purpose.
‘Five best schools in the district were selected last year. They were assessed along such criteria as children taking part in Uralvagonzavod’s sports and educational events, gifted students taking part in local contests, and school-leavers’ further education in Russian colleges in fields that will be in demand at the plant. Among the winners were: School 95, Gymnasium 86, Lyceum 51, Lyceum 39, and School 9,’ the company reports.
Based on this rating, Uralvagonzavod will allocate 600,000 RUR to each of these best schools for repairs; the rest of the schools will be given 350,000 RUR each. Another 2m RUR will be provided for helping gifted children take part in contests. Nizhniy Tagil Metal Processing School will be allocated 10m RUR for the development of a project called Our New School. The local machine-building college will be given 2m RUR for repairs. At the moment, a general contractor is already being selected for carrying out repairs in these educational establishments.
57 divisions of Uralvagonzavod took part in supporting and helping Dzerzhinsky District schools in 2013. When working on a project Glory to the Man of Labor!, the plant’s Personnel Training Center and Nizhniy Tagil Metal Processing School Resource Center conducted a creative contest on job counseling for school students. The contest was called Blue-Collar Jobs are Russia’s Future and was joined by over 30 students from Dzerzhinsky District schools.
