April 18, 2014. The finishing center of Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ, a member of ChTPZ Group) is now implementing a capacity-boosting program for its thermal treatment section, the company’s press service reports.

The innovations will result in a 20% increase in the productivity of the section, which, in its turn, will raise the output of thermally processed pipes from 80,000,000 kg a year to 90-95,000,000 kg a year.

‘The program is two-fold. The first stage will last until the end of 2014 and will comprise a number of steps targeted at reducing down time, speeding up the thermal treatment procedure, cutting down on the cooling time, and introducing the system of flexible and tactical planning. The peculiarity of this stage of the program lies in the fact that no capital investment is required yet the expected result is a 5% increase in the thermal treatment section’s productivity,’ says ChTPZ Group Managing Director Valentin Tazetdinov.

The second stage will begin in 2015 and will require 20m RUR worth of investments. This stage is expected to result in a 15% increase in the isothermal zone, the introduction of a water conditioning system, and greater cooling speed.
