RSPP points out MMK contribution to solving social problems

March 20, 2014. The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) summed up the results of the All-Russian Russian Business Leaders: Dynamic & Responsibility 2013 Contest.

Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) was awarded a diploma in the Contribution to Solving Social Problems category, MMK says. The awarding ceremony took place during the Russian Business Week at the Labor Market & Social Investment: Private-Public Partnership Conference.

In 2013, MMK's SCR activity focused on increase in childbirth and support to mothers and families with many children: 42m RUR were directed to this purpose. Then, 82m RUR were spent on sports and healthy lifestyle promotion programs. In addition to this, 154m RUR were directed to retirees, and 11m RUR were directed to people with disabilities.

'MMK financed all of its social projects in full last year. Social benefits to workers, support to retirees and people with disabilities, sponsorship of cultural, educational, and sports events, and helping maintain the social infrastructure facilities are still among our top priorities,' says MMK Director-General Pavel Shilyaev.
