MMK Group Directs RUR 1bn to Social Projects

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, September 4, 2018. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Group directed over RUR 1.1bn to social projects and charity initiatives in the first half of the year, which was 8% more than one year previously, MMK Information & PR Department reports.

Charity projects aimed at old-age retirees and people with disabilities have always been the ones with the biggest funding: MMK Group allocated some RUR 530 for these program types in the first half of 2018 (around RUR 400m out of which amount got supplied by the parent company).

Around RUR 200m got allocated for preventative healthcare programs involving the Group’s employees and their families; RUR 161.7m went to covering their medical treatment.

Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works and MMK Group’s other member enterprises also focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle and sports, investing in sports facilities (RUR 68.1m in the first six months of 2018), organizing large-scale culture events and investing in local Culture Palaces (RUR 35.7m), running maternity and childcare programs and supporting families with three or more children (RUR 40m).
