January 10, 2014. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) and Ulyanovsky Car Factory (UAZ) signed a cooperation agreement for 2014, MMK reports.

Under this agreement, MMK is to deliver some 60,000,000 kg of rolled metal goods in 2014, which will fully cover the car factory’s flat rolled product needs. The range of products varies from hot- and cold-rolled goods to etched rolled goods to rolled goods with special coatings. The agreement also provides for a pricing formula that will correspond with the changes on the metal goods market.

‘Building up on its cooperation with the car making industry is one of MMK’s current strategic goals. The investment projects that have been implemented over the last few years, Mill2000 first of all, mean we can now offer both the Russian car makers and the foreign ones that operate in Russia good quality automobile body sheets,’ says MMK Deputy Director-General for Sales Nikolai Lyadov when commenting on this agreement.
