December 11, 2013. Electromachine, a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation, is looking into the results of its upgrade program that was carried out on a particularly large scale this year. The technological upgrades were financed from two investment sources: the national programs and the company’s own funds. By now, the company’s own investment funds have been used up by 60%.
Two Sodick EDM units, Amada band machine, and a spot welding unit have already been purchased and installed at various departments. The permanent mold casting section has been launched at the foundry department. The preproduction department now has a welding unit with six workstations. The company is also working on a blank section at its preproduction department. A resistant soldering unit is about to be bought, and the new technology is expected to replace the older graphitic soldering method with the new one as soon as in 2014.
The company is also preparing documents to upgrade the print boards at the galvanizing shop. Under the current production upgrade project, contracts for the delivery of etching equipment, a five-axis mill, and a turn/mill machine will be signed before the end of the year. The project on the construction of a new metals warehouse and new production facilities with the area of 600m will also be signed in December. About 130m RUR has been allocated from the budget to develop the company’s preproduction facilities. It will be necessary to invest some 50m RUR in the equipment for the primary site.
