November 22, 2013. Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant (ChTZ, a member of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation), is about to fulfill its contract for the delivery of 43 swamp tractors and bulldozers to Geotech Holding, the corporation's press service reports.
The 11 vehicles that still have to be delivered will be shipped in November; four of them will go to Vorkuta, two of them will go to Tyumen Region, and five of them will go to Tarkosale Station.
'The shipment includes two swamp bulldozers that Geotech decided to buy on top of the previously discussed order. These swamp bulldozers will help the geological surveyors to explore the fossil fuel deposits in Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Region. The bulldozers will be operated by Geotech Seismorazvedka that is now doing some surveying jobs by order of the oil company Shell,' the press release says.
It is actually at the demand of their Western partners that both tractors will be fitted with carbon monoxide detectors in the pits and reflective stripes on the sides. The other negotiated options include three additional searchlights and an enlarged emergency hatch in the roof that will allow the driver to get out even if they are wearing thick winter clothing in case the tractor breaks some thin ice and starts sinking. As the bulldozers will have to pave their way through the taiga, a special fortified radiator protection is provided, as well as Fleco metal frame over the pit to protect the driver against the falling trees.
