October 8, 2013. Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) Scientific & Production Corporation was a partner for the Povetkin-Klichko match in Moscow on October 5, 2013, the corporation’s press service says.

The World Boxing Association’s super heavyweight world champion Alexei Povetkin and the Association’s super champion and winner of the International Boxing Federation and the World Boxing Association’s champion belts Vladimir Klichko met in a 12-round match at Olimpiysky Stadium.

The match gathered a huge audience: 14,000 people watched it live, and most Russian citizens were glued to their TV screens. The match was also broadcast live to 150 different countries.

UVZ Director-General Oleg Sienko pointed out that ‘such events stimulate a fresh interest in doing all kinds of martial arts and combat sports and popularize sports’. The corporation supports both amateur and professional sports in all the parts of Russia where it runs its enterprises and creates conditions for doing sports for the company workers and their families. In Nizhniy Tagil, UVZ gives all kinds of support to amateur boxing and sponsors various tournaments and competitions.
