35% of MegaFon Ural's new customers subscribe at company's retail outlets

September 17, 2013. MegaFon looked into the results of its retail segment development in the Urals over the last four years. There are currently 238 retail outlets run by MegaFon in Ural Federal District, with over 24m visitors a year, the company's press service reports.

'MegaFon Retail won a very stable share of the mobile phone market by offering its customers a wide range of makes to choose from and a professional approach to customers. On average, every MegaFon outlet in the Urals has more than 160 smartphone makes and 85 mobile phone makes for sale. In 2013, it was MegaFon that changed the way people viewed smartphones; these are typically seen as expensive gadgets, but MegaFon offered its customers a super-money-saving option of MegaFon Login. Over one year, the company's own brand smartphone sales rose by 8 times,' says Director of MegaFon Ural Retail Yegor Zarechnev.

At the moment, 35% of MegaFon Ural's new customers subscribe at company's retail outlets. According to the sales assistants, every one in three visitors to the shop comes to choose a new smartphone, every one in four comes to subscribe to the unlimited Internet access option or to adjust the phone settings so that they can use the Internet via their mobile. Besides, customers still like the option of topping up their mobile phone accounts free of charge at these outlets.
