Italy’s Honorary Consul in Yekaterinburg Roberto D’Agostino says city is strong candidate for EXPO 2020

June 5, 2013. Head of Yekaterinburg Council Alexander Yakob and Italy’s Honorary Consul in Yekaterinburg Roberto D’Agostino talked about the city’s socioeconomic and historic development today, the council’s press service reports.
Yakob spoke in the course of this meeting about a number of international-scale events that Yekaterinburg is going to host in the nearest future, and about the efforts the city is making to develop in order to host these events on a grand scale. At the end of the meeting, Yakob gave his guest a souvenir book and a number of electronic devices with plentiful information on the Urals’ capital.
‘Italy and Russia are known to have very close cultural and economic ties. My primary task is to strengthen and develop these relations. At today’s meeting, the Council Head and I both agreed that Italy has quite a suitable environment for the development of SMEs. What’s more, our exporters are very active on the Russian market, and we are planning to promote their economic presence in Yekaterinburg further on,’ D’Agostino said.
